November Favourites

Hey everyone,

November ended in the past week and you know what that means. It's November favourites time! I have quite a few things that I have been enjoying this past month and I am excited to show you them!

I have enjoyed using the Stefan Lipstick in Dusty this month. It is a lipgloss-like lipstick in a really pretty dusty rose colour. I wore this to my semi formal and it stayed on for most of the night (although it did come off on every drink I had). It is really easy to apply and it goes with everything I wear.

Makeup wise, I have also really loved the Maybelline Brow Drama. It gives just the right amount of pigment and holds my brows down all day. I watched a tutorial of it online and learned that you have to brush through your brows towards the centre of your face before you brush them into shape. This technique works great to give definition and hold on the brows.

This month I have used a body spray that smells absolutely ah-mazing. It is the Guilty Pleasure body spray from Colette by Colette Hayman. It IS my guilty pleasure and I think it is the perfect scent for summer. It is light, sweet and pretty and I always feel great when I wear it. It may look like I have barely used it, but I have actually used it almost every day in November.

My final favourite this month is a colour from my Designer Brands palette. It is the fourth shade from the right, which is a champagne-y pink, shimmery, beautiful colour. I love this shadow for everyday wear. I use this shade if I'm going out to the shops or meeting up with friends. I also use it as a base for other colours. I really really love this colour. Also, the mirror on the palette is incredible (it takes up the entire lid bit).

Do you agree with my favourites this month? What have you been loving this month?

Christmas List 2015 | Random

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the final installment to my Christmas list! This one is for all the things that couldn't really be put into a category as they would be by themselves. It includes books and video games (and since this is a beauty blog I don't think you would want a whole post devoted to video games, so yeah).

The first things on my "random" list are books. I would really like Girl Online: On Tour by Zoe Sugg and The Amazing Book is Not on Fire by Phil Lester and Dan Howell. I love all of these YouTubers and I have read Zoe's first book and loved it. I am really excited to read them both! Another book I would like is an adult colouring book. I have no preference, but I really enjoyed colouring in when I was little, so I am sure I will enjoy it now!

Here comes the video game! I would really like The Sims 4: Get Together expansion pack. I have the other expansion pack from the Sims 4, but apparently this one isn't as needed by the Simmers community. I still want it though because I don't want to miss out on any of the features in it!

Source

I would also really like a 3 year diary. You know, the ones where you write a word or a sentence each day and you can see what you did that day the year before. I really like the idea of this and I want the one from Typo.

Source

The final things I want for Christmas are candles of the Yankee variety. The scents I would like are Red Raspberry ( I think it smells like red cordial), Lavender Vanilla ( I think this would be very relaxing) and Red Velvet (I really like red velvet cake and this smells just like them).

Source and sorry the image quality isn't great, but the images were originally so small.

That is all that I want for Christmas this year. Thank you for joining me on this Christmas list series.

What do you think of my entire list? Have you any recommendations for me?

Christmas List 2015 | Hair and Body

Hi everyone!

Who's up for round two? Here is the second installment of my Christmas list posts. This one is all about the hair and body things that I would like for Christmas. So let's get straight into it!

First up is body things and I will start of with the Snow Fairy shower gel from Lush. I absolutely love this shower gel. It smells great, looks great and feels great to use. The fragrance it gives off is intense, but I can't get enough of it.

Please ignore the pink fun in the box. I couldn't crop it small enough (yes I took this from last year's Boxing Day Haul, don't judge me)

Also from Lush, I would like the So White bath bomb. I really love this bath bomb. I smelled it in the shops last year but I didn't buy it (I didn't have my money on me), however, this smelled just like apples. Fresh apples. I am so bummed that they removed the shower gel from the Christmas range this year, but at least I can still get the bath bomb.

Source

Another bath bomb and also from Lush that I would like is the Stardust bath bomb. I saw this on their website and thought 'Well isn't that the most cute bath bomb you ever did see?' When I clicked on it, it said that it has a vanilla scent and I was all like "IT'S MEANT TO BE!" Anyway, so now I have to have it.

Source

It's the last Lush bath bomb, I promise! It's the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb. First of all, look at it. It's so pretty and cool and it has holly on it. The website says it smells like lavender, which is a nice, calming scent to have before bed or as a special treat of the relaxing variety.

Source
And so ends the Lush craze. Now on with Soap and Glory! I would like the Sugar Crush boday buttercream (I accidentally wrote "boday" but I kind of like it). I want this for multiple reasons (1) I really like the Sugar Crush scent, (2) I'm not good at moisturising after showers so this would be good for me and (3) I find Soap and Glory to have really good quality products, so I expect this one won't disappoint!

Source

Now on to The Body Shop. The only thing I would like from The Body Shop is the Strawberry Beauty Bag. This includes the Strawberry hand cream, the Strawberry body wash and the Strawberry body butter. It also comes with a loofah and the bag it comes in (duh!). I really liked the Strawberry hand cream that I got for my 14th birthday and I imagine all the Strawberry products would have the same amazing scent.

The last two things this week are hair things and they are both from John Frieda. They are the Sheer Blonde Lightening Shampoo and Conditioner. I am losing my blonde-ness and would like to get it back, and this would be a great start!

So that is it for this week. I hope you enjoyed it!

What do you think of my entire list so far? What hair and body things do you want for Christmas?

Christmas List 2015 | Beauty and Fashion

Hi everyone,

Oh. Em. Gee. Christmas is next month and I could not be more excited! Throughout this month I am going to list all of the things I want for Christmas. I’m going to do it in categories of beauty, body and random to break it up a bit so I'm not giving you a massive post all in one go. Btw sorry it has taken so long for this post to happen, but I have school and yesterday (my rescheduled day of posting) the power went out at my house, so I couldn't do my finishing touches on the post. Anyway, on with the post!

This week, I  am showing all the things I want that are beauty related, starting off with the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach. I have wanted this for AGES. I never go out to the shops (because of school, DEFINITELY NOT laziness, haha) so I have never had a chance to buy it. I really want it because I have seen so many good reviews on it and the colour is really pretty.

Source

Next! Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I have seen this on TV ads and it looks really good. I KNOW not to completely trust ads, but the reviews on this are amazing. Again, I never go to the shops so I haven’t been able to buy it.

Source

This is a bit of a weird want for Christmas, but anyway. Formula 10.0.6 Skin Clarifying Mud Mask. I read about this in a magazine I read recently and they said it was a really good mask to clear out your pores. I am a teenager, so a pore clearing mask would be really good for me to try.

Source

I also saw the Katy Perry Mad Potion perfume in a magazine recently, so I looked up the “notes” in it on Fragrantica and it sounds like it smells really good. It has notes of__________.

Source

I am also going to include fashion in the beauty section because where else could it go? I have seen loads of people absolutely rocking high waisted denim shorts. I want ones that aren’t distressed because I don’t like that look, but I still want high waisted ones. They’ll make my legs look longer which will make me look taller, and no short girl can say they WANT short legs, do they?

Source

I want a crop top to go with the shorts. Specifically I want a pastel one because I. LOVE. PASTELS. I have a crop top already, and it’s really nice, but I want a plain crop top so I can dress it up with big necklaces.

Source

Finally, I want rose gold sleepers. I am OB. SESSED. with rose gold at the moment and I haven’t worn earrings to school in a very long time (I'm talking years). I think rose gold is allowed at my school and I don’t even care if it’s not, imma wear them anyway!

Source

So, that is the end of the first installment of my Christmas list. I hope you enjoyed it and I will see you next week with the next installment!

I’m going to try a new thing where I ask a question at the end of my posts, so here goes…

What beauty and fashion things do you want for Christmas? Do you want the same things that I want?

Semi Formal OOTN

Hi everyone,

As I sit here on my couch at home, sick with laryngitis (my treatment is to shut up), I thought that there was no better opportunity to write you a blog post on this fine morning. It's not a long one, because I have to get  on with school work.

My semi formal was last Sunday. I went with no one (#foreveralone, am I right?). It was on the Kookaburra Queen and I had loads of fun with my friends (go check my instagram).

I forgot to take a picture of them on the day and I got my foot injured on the night, so this'll have to do!
I wore:
Lauren Printed 2-in-1 Prom Dress from Forever New
Tessa Covered Block Heels from Forever New
Bracelet from Lovisa
I got my hair and makeup done at Stefan, btw
Clutch and Earrings from my family

That is my entire post this week. I'm sorry it was so short, but monthly favourites next week! Yay!

See you then, bye!

September Favourites

A rose from my garden means that spring is upon us!

Hi everyone!

It's that time of the month again. No not THAT time of the month, but the time of the month that I tell you all my favourite products that I have used in the past month. Could I have said month many more times then? I don't think so. Throughout September I have used many of the things I got for my birthday, so you can see the best of the bunch!

Body

I finished up my Snow Fairy body wash sample that I got from Lush LAST YEAR. Yes, I know, I am a terrible sample user. Anyway, it smells absolutely incredible. I can't pinpoint what the scent is exactly, but I can tell you that it is very sweet. I highly recommend it to all the sweet-tooths out there, but be warned that it is a strong scent. I am sorry that I don't have a picture of it, but my mum already put the bottle in the rubbish as it was empty. You can see it in my Spring morning routine if you want to.

Since I finished my Lush body wash, I moved on to The Body Shop's Japanese Cherry Blossom Shower Gel that I got for my birthday from one of my bestest friends. It smells SO GOOD. It lathers up amazingly with only a little bit of it on the loofah thing. The scent of it doesn't really linger, but I still love it!

Another product that I have been loving this month is The Body Shop Shea Body Butter sample that I got from the same friend for my birthday (it came in a pack thing). This definitely does not smell the best, but the way it moisturises my skin makes up for it. As I said in my Spring morning routine, I only really use it at night time to not offend anyone else's noses as it is a scent that lingers.

Books

I have really liked reading Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella this month. I got for my birthday from my auntie. It is about a girl called Audrey who wears sunglasses because of her anxiety disorder. The book is about her getting over the disorder with the help of her crush, Linus. I have not finished it yet, but that is the basic gist of it.

I have flicked through the pages of Love Tanya by Tanya Burr and have utterly loved every word I have read. The book contains many things that Tanya Burr has learned and experienced, including recipes and stories of her childhood. I particularly like the recipes section and I can't wait to try and bake her cookies!

I didn't really have any makeup favourites this month because I am still using the same things as last year, but I don't wear makeup much so don't judge me to harshly!

That is all the things that I have loved throughout this month of September. I do hope you enjoyed this post and if you did, then +1 it. If you want to read more posts from me then leave me a follow. Down in the comments section below, tell me your favourite things that you have used this September and I might buy them and try them. Anyway, that is all from me for now.

Bye!

PS; There might not be a post from me next week as I will be on school camp for the majority of the week.

Happy 2nd Blogday!

Hi everyone!

Today is a very special day. An anniversary, in fact. On this day, two years ago, I started this little place on the internet.

Yes, I know there has been loooong spans of time where I haven't posted and I do regret that. School just gets in the way, unfortunately.

This blog has gathered a, well, fairly small community (3 followers to be exact) and you know what would make my little blog really happy? If you went over and followed her (she gets rather lonely sometimes).

This was just a short little post to tell you peeps about this accomplishment and I have just one more thing to ask you. I have noticed that my posts are forever creeping towards the 100 mark and I was wondering if you peeps had any ideas of how to celebrate.

I was thinking maybe a giveaway, but I don't know what to give away. If you have any other ideas or suggestions, leave them in the comments below.

That is all I have for you today, so before you click away please leave a comment or a follow as I do read and reply to all of the comments and every follow is much appreciated by my little blog.

Bye!

Morning Routine | Spring

Hi everyone!

Today I want to show you how I get ready in the morning on the school holidays (bear in mind that it is spring in Australia). My morning routine is the best part of the day because I like structure, but after I finish it I can do whatever I want. So, on with the routine!

Shower Time!

The first thing I do when I wake up is have a shower - or go back to sleep if my brother is still in the shower (those are the best days). Once I get in the shower, I usually wash my body and my face. I wash my body with the Lush Snow Fairy body wash because I am slack when it comes to using samples (I got that one last year!). It smells really good and it's pink! It smells like fairy floss and lathers up really well.

I wash my face with the Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Face Wash as I have done for almost a year, I think. I like all the little grainy bits in the face wash because it reassures me that it is doing something, even if my unpredictable teenage skin prevents it. I still think it works as I don't have as many blemishes as I normally would.

Skincare!

Once I am out of the shower, I moisturise my skin. My face gets the Simple Spotless Skin Anti-Blemish Moisturiser and my body gets a Body Shop Body Butter sample that my friend got me for my birthday (its the Shea Butter one). Although it doesn't smell that great, it moisturises my skin really well and I only do it at night, as the smell is strong and it lingers, so as to not offend everyone's noses, only mine!

Getting Dressed...

After moisturising, I get dressed. I have chosen to wear a leopard print singlet paired with black jeans and pink jelly shoes to match. This is one of my most common outfits as all the colours go together and I feel the most confident and happy in it, even if I am just staying at home.

Breakfast time!

Once I am dressed, I normally go to the kitchen for breakfast. I have porridge and put fruit on it if we have any. I also have a Milo. For those poor, unfortunate souls who don't know the joy that is Milo, it is a chocolate-y drink that is sold in Australia (and other places, I think maybe New Zealand has them too). I often sit at the table and read the paper while I eat my breakfast - yes I know I am only a teenager and that reading news papers is for old people (don't tell Mum I said that!), but I mainly just read the celebrity news and the comics.

After I have eaten my breakfast, I brush my teeth and do my hair. For school I normally bung my hair up in a pony tail, but on the holidays I just brush through it and put in a head band. Then I just go on with the rest of my day.

So that is my entire morning routine! You should comment down below anything you do in the morning to get ready. You should also leave a +1 if you enjoyed this post and follow if you want to see more from me.

Just a little more before I sign off. My birthday was last month and I received lots of things. I was wondering if you wanted to see that, even if it is a month or so late. Please comment your thoughts on the matter and it will greatly appreciated. If you don't want to see that blog post then you should give me ideas for new posts of what you would like to see more of on this blog.

That is really all for today, thank you for reading.

Bye!

My 50th Parkrun

Hey everyone,

This morning I ran my 50th parkrun with my mum. Some of you may not know what parkrun is. Parkrun is a free, timed 5 kilometre run that starts at 7 o’clock in the morning. I have done it almost every single time that my mum has (the only time I didn’t was when I was sick with something).

As I said, parkrun is free, so don’t use that as an excuse not to do it. The only legitimate excuse is that you’re sick or you have to go to work. Trust me, there was a guy last week who did his 50th “run” in his wheelchair (he was pushed and it was his last run as I think he had some form of cancer).

Also, you don’t have to be a good runner to participate in parkrun. I started off running the 5km at around 40 minutes, but some people walk it. I now run it at around 35 minutes. I also see dogs being walked and a lorra lot of prams. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t avid runners involved in parkrun because there definitely are (some people run it in under 20 minutes!).

Most people do running training but you don't have to. My mum used to do it to get fit but now she does it just for fun. She often goes on a run in the middle of the week for just that. I would like to train a bit more. Mum has put me through intensive training with her so that I can keep up with.

So that is all that I have for you today; I just thought I’d announce to you that I had done 50 runs with parkrun. I hope you have an amazing day.

Bye!

14 Tips for Starting an Amazing Blog or YouTube Channel

Hi everyone,

Yes, I KNOW it's been a long time since I have posted on here, but my little cousin recently announced that she is starting a YouTube Channel (free marketing here cuz) and I thought I would give her and any of you wanting to start a blog or channel of your own some tips to get you started.

Before you start:

First up, why are you starting one? Is it because you want views or money? Or because you want to help people? If the first one sounds more like you, then don't start one, but if you want to help people then be my guest.

Next up, title. You don't want to be stuck with something stupid and hard to type because no one will click on it. You have to be original and you can make sure of this by Googling it and seeing if anyone has stolen your name.

After that, what kind of content are you going to post? Is it going to be a beauty channel/ blog or a comedy one? A serious self-help one or a dish-washing tutorial (I'm not even kidding, people do this)?

Okay, so you've posted your first video/ blog post:

Once you have posted, make sure people know about it. Get Twitter-ing, Facebook-ing, Instagram-ing and whatever else-ing to get the message out there that you have posted something on your blog/channel. You don't want to post something and have no one see it, that would be pointless.

Now that you have done that, make sure you are a consistent post-er (cough cough) by keeping a schedule or a reminder in your phone. But if you don't feel like posting, let your people know on Twitter or Instagram or whatever.

Extra little tips:
  • Make sure you're not doing it for the views
  • Don't pay attention to the stats, they don't matter as long as you're having fun
  • You are allowed to stop if you don't enjoy doing it anymore (that's not me, I just have senior school life to deal with, so shush)
  • Only post things you would like to watch/ read
  • Don't feel like you have to post, you are you're own person are are allowed to be sick/ emotional/ busy with school
  • Promote, Promote, Promote. Like the three rules of real estate (location, location, location), the more you promote your site, the more people will see it
  • Schedule your tweets/ Instagrams (can you do that)/ Facebook posts - I recommend HootSuite. I have used it since (almost) the beginning
  • Schedule your videos/ blog posts to come out at the same time every week ( I *try* to post on Saturdays at 12:00pm)
  • Be yourself - no one likes a fake person or a second rate Zoella, be a first rate you
That's all for today, please go and subscribe to my cousin (I will give you the link when she gives me the link) and tell her how great she is. I hope these tips help anyone just starting out on Blogger/Wordpress/YouTube and I will see you next time!

Bye!

My Birthday List

Hi everyone,

On this fine Monday evening when I am writing this I realised that my birthday is coming up, so I'm going to tell you what I want, what I really really want for my birthday. My birthday is (when I am writing this) in about 4 weeks and I am so excited! So anyway, on with the list!*

To get the Sims things out of the way first, I want all the stuff packs and game packs that are currently out and they are the Luxury Party Stuff Pack, Perfect Patio Stuff Pack, Spa Day Game Pack and Outdoor Retreat Game Pack. They are all the packs out at the moment and the only way to get them is with credit card or PayPal and I have neither of those.

Beauty

The first makeup item on my list is the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette. I have watched a couple of videos on YouTube about it and sounds like a great dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, which is not available in Australia and my mum doesn’t like shopping online.

The next item on my list is a nail polish. It is Essie Mint Candy Apple. I really love the colour mint at the moment and I have heard beauty bloggers rave about this nail polish and I want in. However, I definitely don’t need another nail polish.
My last makeup item is from MAC. It is the lipstick in Peach Blossom. I feel like this is a nice colour for a girl my age and I like it. I have looked on the website and in store and I really want it, but it is a bit out of my price range, especially when I can only wear makeup on weekends.

I also want a Soap and Glory scrub, but I don’t know which one; maybe you could recommend me one in the comments!

I saw the Jimmy Choo Exotic perfume in a magazine last week and it sounded like it would be a smell that I would like. I also saw the Katy Perry Killer Queen Spring Reign perfume in the same magazine and thought it sounded like me as well.
Source
Books

I really want Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and have for a little while now (I think it was on my Christmas list). It sounds like a cute story and  I like cute stories, so it fits me well.
I also want three books by YouTubers. They are Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter by Louise Pentland, Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr and All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher.
That is all the things that I want for my birthday, but in no way will I get all of them, so don’t go thinking I'm all snobby and the like.

I will speak to you next time.

Bye!

*I have copied the pictures from the official brand's website as I (obviously) don't own these items. I have also included a link to the source if it was not from the brand's official website. All Sims pictures are from The Sims' Wikia page.
