My Day - The Locker Incident

Hey everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you about my day at school (again).

It started off really well with homeroom and history both fine. When I got to morning tea, that is where the trouble began.

I rummaged around in my pocket, in search for the key to my lock. I had lost my key, I thought and immediately told my friend who was a few lockers down from me.

Maybe you don't understand. My food is in my locker. I could not eat any food and  had not done since breakfast.

Anyway, we went to the office to ask if anyone had handed in a key. No one had. We did a quick search around the school for the key but could not find it anywhere.

After searching, I went to the office (my friend went to eat) to ask to get my lock cut. When my lock was cut, I got out all my books for the next lesson (Science) because there was about 30 seconds of morning tea left.

After science, I went down the stairs to my locker. But before I did, I noticed something hanging out of a locker upstairs. I took a closer look and (lo and behold) it was my key. Great. I had just had my lock cut off and now I find my key.

When I got back to my locker, I got out my lunch and ate as much as I could (I was starving at this point).

Luckily I have an identical lock at home that I can replace it with. And also a spare key.

I hope you liked reading my little slice I frustration; it certainly made me feel better! For now, wait till Saturday because I have something really exciting coming!

Bye!

Napoleon Perdis Lipgloss Review

Hi everyone,

Today I'm going to review the Napoleon Perdis Merci lipgloss called Kate. I am a bit nervous about this post as I have never reviewed a makeup product before.

First up, I'd just like to point out that this is the only one I have as I gave the other four in the pack to my friends as Christmas presents.

Swatches:

By the way, the bumps you can see are little bits of shimmer in it.

Colour
I really like this lipgloss because it is a natural colour (to prove it, I went to school and didn't get caught by the teachers at all). It is a really pretty pink colour and I think it is great for everyday wear. It has tiny little bits of shimmer in it which I really like. The applicator is a brush which I think is great and it feels nice when applying.

Packaging
I think the packaging is really cool. The tube itself has swirl shaping, which I think makes the product stand out from the rest. For some reason it has a picture of a bug on the top of the lid which confuses me a little.

Does it work?
Yes. I think it works REALLY well and I would recommend this colour to anyone who doesn't want to have an overly bold lip.

I hope you found this useful, this is my first review on something, so let me know what you think of it down in the comments!

My Day - School

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to tell you about what happened at my school today.

Before I begin, I will say that right now, I am sitting at my desk at home in near 30 degree (Celsius) heat (don't worry, I have air conditioning) at about 5 minutes to 4 pm on Tuesday the 18th of February.

My day at school started off fairly well. We went to our school auditorium to watch a performance about body image and cyber bullying. It was really interesting and I thought that it was very entertaining and educational (or maybe even edu-taining haha). A great start to the day.

I may have to go to my swimming training soon so if I do, then I'll tell you.

After the performance, we went off to our lockers and got our lunch. At lunch we ate, chatted, talked exasperatedly about how hot it was and how our school should have air conditioning in all the classrooms.

In Business class, after lunch, we did boring things that don't matter (to you anyway), so I won't waste your time and tell you about it.

We then had second lunch. Again nothing much happened, refer to previous lunch paragraph.

In maths, I learned how to calculate effective rates of interest. It is surprisingly easy, for me anyway. I learn new things pretty quickly, unless it's exercise related. Ugh.

In religion, we took down notes on how to mystery of God affects our lives in many ways. Religion is the most boring subject in school (for me, but other people in my grade love it).

*5 minutes pass*

I'm back. Sorry. I had to change into my togs.

After school, I went straight on the computer to do homework. I finished it, of course. And now I'm here writing this for you and I am about to go off to swimming, so until next time.

Bye!

How to organise schoolwork

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to tell you how to organise your life in school time and, well, anytime really. Just reshape this technique to organise anything you may be doing (including work and university).

Step 1. Get a homework planner. If your school doesn't give these out, I definitely recommend one so you can see what homework needs to be done or when your next assignment is due.

Step 2. Make a list. This is more for in school, but making a list of your priorities (i.e. homework, assignments, reading your favourite blog *cough* Nicky Jane *cough*, etc.) so you don't fall behind.

Step 3. Work out your spare time. List all the things you do (this includes eating, sleeping and school but not homework or study) and roughly how long it goes for. Then add all the minutes together and subtract them from the entire week (time in a week - time taken from the things you do in a week = amount of spare time).

Step 4. Prioritise your spare time. Write another list, but do it in order of importance (so homework first and Internet second - as a reward for doing your homework).

Step 5. Do it. And, once you've finished your homework, you can go on YouTube and read blogs till your heart is content.

I hope you found these tips helpful, they certainly help me to get my homework done!

My Day - The Swimming Carnival

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to do a spur of the moment post, just because I feel like it. As I write this, it is the 10th of February and dinner is almost ready.

Today was my school swimming carnival and I think I did alright. I didn't win anything, but I got in and swam, and that is the main thing!

I didn't wear any makeup today because (a) we aren't allowed to wear it to school (But I do wear lip gloss to school sometimes) and (b) it would come of in the pool anyway.

Hold on a second, I have to go turn my light on, it's getting dark.

Ok. That's better. Now I can look at my computer screen without squinting. Yay!

Anyway, I also would like to tell you a bit about me today.

I am 14 and currently don't know what I am going to do with the rest of my life. I have Cerebral Palsy (it's only mild) in my left foot, so I can't move it as capably as I can move my right foot. Luckily I'm right handed!

I think dinner is ready so I have to go, but this was fun. Writing a random weekday post. I'll have to do this more often.

Talk to you soon,

Love Nicola

January Favourites

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to tell you what I have liked to use over the past month, so lets get straight into it!

I have really been liking the Clinique Moisture Surge extended thirst relief cream. It works really well for sunburns if you don't want it to peel (mine peeled anyway, stupid skin) or just as your everyday moisturiser. A little bit goes a really long way, so it is very good value for money. I didn't actually pay for this, it is a sample I got from a salesperson while shopping. I don't know how big the full size is, but I will be buying it!

I have also really been liking the Biore Moisture Lotion for the same reasons as the Clinique moisturiser. It nourishes my skin, helps make sunburns go away and, unlike the Clinique one, it also has SPF do it will stop my face from getting sunburned.

I wore perfume a bit more this month, because its nice to smell nice sometimes. The ones I have been wearing are Katy Perry Killer Queen, Katy Perry Meow and YSL Paris. They are all light scents and I love them all!

My favourite candle this month has been my Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake. I really love this candle because t smells exactly like vanilla cupcakes. I can even smell the icing! I have nothing bad to say about this candle.

They are all the things I have been liking throughout January (and, of course, I will continue to like them). I am excited to find new things to like in the coming months of the year.

My Skincare Collection

Ok. So before I start, I'd just like to say that all of these were gifted to me from friends and family.

My skincare collection is, I think, pretty big. Some people would think it not much at all, but if you are someone who goes out shopping and sees a new thing they like the look of, but never gets around to using it, it's a lot.

I'll start off with the lotions and potions I have from The Body Shop.

I have two Cassis Rose body lotions in the 60ml bottle size ( I don't think they sell them any more). I have not yet tried these, but they look really good (and smell nice as well).I have one Coconut body butter in the 50ml tub size. They do still sell these. I have used this so much over the past 6 months (on and off) and it works really well (and smells like coconuts). I had a look into the other scents they do and I am excited to try them out (not that I have bought any, yet).

Now I will tell you about the things I have from Face of Australia.

I have the Detoxifying Face Mask with Aloe Vera and Cucumber extract (and you guessed it, it smells like cucumbers). I have not yet tested this out yet, as with most of the products I own. I also have the Purifying Makeup Remover, also with Aloe Vera and Cucumber extract (this also smells like cucumber). I have used this and it works brilliantly. One day, a few weeks ago, I was trying to put on eyeliner and this came in really helpful when I messed up.The last thing I have from Face of Australia Revitalising Body Lotion with Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Vitamin E.  I have used this on my arms and legs and it works great. It also works well on sunburns also.

I also have things from Bodycology (I don't think these are sold anymore).

I have White Gardenia and Sweet Petals moisturisers. I have not used these yet, I am still using the Face of Australia one, but I think these look good.

I have four things from Katy Perry's range of skincare.

I have two products from her Meow range. They are the Shower Gel and Body Lotion. They smell absolutely divine and I have not used them yet, but I will.

I also have two products from her Killer Queen range. This is her most recent range and it has a very lovely scent. I have the Shower Gel and Body Lotion.

The last thing, but certainly not least, is the Biore Moisture Lotion. It has SPF 15 in it and is used on the facial area.

I hope you found this interesting. I may write reviews on these, but you'll have to stay tuned to find out.

PS: I could not find any websites to link you to (mostly because they aren't sold anymore/Katy Perry doesn't have an online store with her fragrances. sorry), so you'll have to search online for them, or go shopping. Either way, you will probably find them.
