February Favourites

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my February Favourites! While I have school going on as well, favouriteses will be the only posts going up. Sorry 'bout that. I'm in my senior year and I don't want to fail now, believe me! This month was the month containing Valentine's Day aka "The day when all the single girls eat way too much ice cream", so you can probably guess where I was (well, I certainly wasn't on a date, so there's that). Anyway, enough about my depressing single life and on with the favourites!

My first favourite is my grandma's new pug, Peggy. What more could a lonely single girl want than a cute animal to distract her? Just kidding. But seriously, Peggy is so cute. She already knows how to sit and just sits in front of grandma (or whoever has the treats) and waits to get a treat even if no one told her to sit, she's so cheeky! Even though she's *technically* my aunt, I don't care. I love her anyway! Look! She fell asleep in my lap!

My next favourite is my 3 year journal from Typo that I received for Christmas. It is a great way to write down little bits of your day without having to worry about writing an entire novel every day. Even though it only really asks for one word or one sentence answers, I try to include a little bit more information so that when I look back on it I can remember that day and not just "Oh, ok so I had fish and chips for dinner on the 20th of February 2016 (I actually did by the way)".

I have also been loving a couple of books this month as well. I am the type of person who really likes the lovey-dovey teenage stories, so there's no reason I couldn't love Signs Point to Yes by Sandy Hall. It is a really cute story about how Jane (the main character) has to babysit her crush's three little sisters over the summer holidays. I have to admit that the reason I first picked it up was that it's cover is mint coloured, so sometimes judging a book buy it's cover DOES work! The title is so named because Jane relies on her Magic-8 ball to make some decisions, btw.

I have also been loving Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell this month. I have not finished it yet, so I'll give you an update on that when I do (maybe next month). It is about Cath (the main character) going to college with her twin sister, Wren, and the fanfiction she writes (she gets, like, 35,000 reads per post, so I'm kinda jealous!). It is a substantially bigger book than Signs Point to Yes and the vocabulary is a bit more advanced (I have reached for my phone to Google definitions more than once!), but I love it! Also, the cover is mint! My English teacher is always telling us to read more so that we get better marks, so all these big words are good! However, I must say that I do not recommend this to younger readers as it has some colourful language in it.

And I think that is all my favourites for the month of February. Hope you enjoyed!

What were your February favourites? Have you any book recommendations for me?

25 Facts About Me!

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my 100th post! I thought, to celebrate this great milestone that I would tell you 25 facts about me (I would have done 100, but I couldn't think of enough). I was going to do a giveaway but all the terms and conditions really confused me and I already have a lot of things on my plate what with being a senior in high school. So anyway, on with the facts!

  1. I am (currently) 152cm (about 5 feet) tall.
  2. I have a ginger cat called Stanley. He is 6 years old.
  3. I have lived in the same house for as long as I can remember.
  4. I have had braces on my teeth since halfway through grade 8. This June will be the 4th year of having braces.
  5. I occasionally get migraines. Mum says that they are from stress. She gets them, too.
  6. I am kind of afraid of heights, but not too much. I don't shake on balconies or anything.
  7. I used to have a pet rock.
  8. I have walked to school every day since the first day of grade 9.
  9. I have no idea what I want to do when I am older, but I know I want to go to university to do business or journalism.
  10. When I was younger, I wanted to be a pet shop owner so that I could play with all the animals.
  11. My favourite singer is Katy Perry. I also like Adele and Taylor Swift.
  12.  My favourite sweet food is either cake or chocolate.
  13.  My favourite savoury food is either Vegemite on toast or bacon.
  14.  My favourite colour is mint green. There is a Fiat that comes in this colour and I want it sooo much!
  15.  My favourite wild animal is a giraffe. I think it’s because they are so tall.
  16.  My favourite domestic animal is a cat. I also like pugs.
  17.  I do not like mushrooms, Brussels sprouts or broccoli (it gets caught in my braces).
  18.  I have mild cerebral palsy in my left foot. It doesn’t impact my life too much, but I can’t use my foot to its full capacity.
  19. My hair is naturally curly, but when it gets straightened properly (check my Instagram @knickknack99) it is really straight. Don’t get me wrong, I love having curly hair, but it is a lot of work!
  20. I have never had a job.
  21. I have so much (cheap) jewellery, but I never wear it. Mostly because I am only allowed studs and sleepers at school. #ugh
  22. My first time using makeup was when I was 6 for a dance concert. I started taking an interest in makeup a bit before I started this blog.
  23. When I grow up I want to travel to America and Europe, but I haven’t been overseas yet because I don’t have a passport.
  24. I have never been to Disneyland, which is shocking because I have loved Disney movies since I was a young warthog. #LionKingReference
  25. My favourite Disney movies are Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Lion King and Tangled.
Those are all of the facts that I could think of. I do hope that you enjoyed this post!

Do you have any weird facts no one knows about you?
