Birthday Presents | Random

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the final installment of my Birthday Presents series. It is now time for the things that can't really be put into any other categories except this one.

The first random thing is from one of my auntie's on my mum's side. It is a Tangle Teezer. I know this isn't really that random, but I am not going to make a hair edition of this series to have only one thing in. It works really good. I have wanted it for ages. I am so glad that I finally have it. You may see this is an upcoming favourites post. *hint hint*

The next thing I got is from my dad's auntie. It is a packet of chips. You may be thinking, "Who gets for chips on their birthday?",  well, I do. I love chips. If you have read my blog for a while, you will remember that I asked for (and got) a bucket Maltesers for Christmas.

The next two things are also from my dad's auntie. The first of those is a makeup bag. It has loads of dresses on it. They are ones that you cut out and stick the tabs into the sides of the girls (like the ones on the bag). I really like it, but I do have about a MILLION makeup bags. Okay so maybe five or six. Slight exaggeration there...

The next thing is a Truth or Dare game. It has 50 cards in it and you draw them off a pile and do the dare or tell the truth. That is the game in a nutshell. Also, it has a Pugasus on the front! It used to have a sticker on the front to tell you what it was, but my brother pulled it off.

The next things I got are from various school friends. The first of those is an owl bookmark. It is really cool because it can loop around the pages or just clip onto one. That is particularly good if you have to read up to a certain point in the book. I had to do this in English class (I didn't get the bookmark until I finished the book, though). We read To Kill a Mockingbird, in case you were wondering.

From the same friend, I also got a pen. It looks like it has been covered in glue, dunked in glitter and 100's and 1000's. That is not a bad thing, but the things will fall off all through my pencil case and everywhere else. I like it a lot.

The second last thing I got is from a different friend; I would say that she is my second best friend and she is moving schools to be closer to her house*sheds a tear or two*. Anyway, she got me a pair of plain, gold studs. I love them, they are so nice and they are allowed to be worn at my school (the rules at my school are quite strict).

The last thing I got is from my best friend in the entire world. It is a plaque and it says:

Friendship is not a big thing...
it's a million little things

That is the last of my birthday presents. I hope you enjoyed this series, I'll probably do a similar thing at Christmas time, so stay tuned for that!

Bye!

Birthday Presents | Fashion

Hi everyone,

Today is the day that I show you the fashion items (also known as clothes) that I got for my birthday!

The first clothing item I got for my birthday is from my mum. It is a pink fluffy jumper from Ice. It is really fluffy and really warm. It doesn't go with everything from my wardrobe, but I generally pair it with my black skinny jeans or something like that.

The next thing I got is also from my mum. It is a crochet, ombre, summer dress that I have wanted for ages. I just love the look of it and even though it is a *little* bit big for me now, by the time summer hits, it should fit nicely.

The last clothing item is from one of my aunties on my mum's side. It is not something you would wear out in public, but it is still an item of clothing so I'm putting it in this post. It is a grey, fluffy dressing gown from Cotton On Body. It is the softest thing I have ever felt. I wear it every night to keep me warm, but when I'm eating I take it off so I don't get food on it. I just love this dressing gown.

They are all the things I got for my birthday that are fashion related. I hope you enjoyed this post. Coming on Wednesday is the final installment of my Birthday Presents series. It is the random things that can't really be categorised into anything else.

Bye!

Birthday Presents | Body

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the second part of my Birthday Presents series. This is the one where you get to see what body products I got.

I also got a Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, but I couldn't find it at the time of taking the pictures.

The first things I got are from one of my aunties on my mum's side. They are from Soap and Glory. They are the Sugar Crush body wash and the Daily Smooth. These smell absolutely amazing. I'm sure most of you know what they smell like, but Sugar Crush smells like Sweet Lime and the Daily Smooth smells like Sweet, Musky Flowers.

The next things I got are from my dad's auntie. They are 3 body washes from the brand Camille & Mae Toujours body washes in Rose and Vanilla, Lily and Lavender. They smell lovely. I am currently using the Rose and Vanilla one and I love it a lot.

From my mum I also got a Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I love this. It tastes amazing. To me it tastes like raspberry cordial that has no water in it. It works really great too.

My grandma on my mum's side got me these next three things. They are all from The Body Shop. The first is  Almond Cuticle Oil. This works really well. You just twist the end to get the oil onto the brush thing and put a bit onto each of your cuticles and rub it in. Then you use the lid to push back your cuticle. I hate this bit, but because the lid is rubbery, it doesn't hurt as mush as a plastic one would.

This is The Body Shop's Almond Cuticle Oil. I'm sorry that it's not that clear what it says, but this is the best photo I have.
The next thing I got from her is the Strawberry hand cream. I put this on after I use the cuticle oil. This smells so good. And exactly like strawberries. I absolutely love it.

The last thing I got from her is the Big Nail Filer. I have to admit that I have not used this yet. I don't like the feeling of filing nails. Mum will have to teach me a thing or two about this because I have no clue how to do it.

They are all the things I got for my birthday that were body related. The next in the birthday series goes up on Saturday and it is the Fashion part of the series.

Bye!

Birthday Presents | Beauty

Hi everyone,

As my birthday was just a bit more than I week ago, I thought I would show you what I got. By the way I am not trying to brag; I just have a big(ish) family.

The first thing I got that is beauty related is from my mum. It is a Designer Brands mascara in Emerald. I have used this mascara once or twice now and that colour is so vibrant and so pretty. It compliments my hazel eyes really well.

I got five nail polishes for my birthday this year. The first ones I got were from my dad's auntie. They are Ulta3 nail polishes in Lagoon, Luck of the Irish, Pop Art and Tropez.

The other nail polish is from my grandma on my mum's side. She got me an Essie nail polish in Cute as a Button. The funny thing is that my grandma's nickname is Essie.

The next thing I got is from my mum. The first thing is from The Body Shop. It is the Tea Tree Flawless BB cream in 01. I love this BB cream. It is my exact skin colour and it has tea tree in it so it will get rid of those pesky spots for me.

The last two things I got (also from my mum) are from Nude by Nature. I got the Get the Nude Look brush kit that includes:

Complexion perfecting kabuki brush
- Cheek defining brush
- Deluxe eye shade brush
- Domed eye blending brush
- Ultimate cover concealer brush
- Dual headed precision eye definer and Lip brush
- Eye-liner pencil sharpener

The last thing I got is a Nude by Nature Eye On You Kit. It contains:

- Mineral Eye Primer
- Liquid Mineral Concealer in Medium
- Ultimate Nude Palette (with the colours Creme, Latte and Espresso)

The eye primer and concealer are in the background.

They are all the beauty related items that I got for my birthday. Next up in the Birthday Presents series is Body products. That will be up on Wednesday.

Bye!

July Favourites

Hi everyone,

As it is now August (and almost my birthday), it is now time for a July Favourites!

First up is a haircare item. It is the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner. I love this stuff. Not only does it make my hair smell amazing, it also cleans, softens and adds moisture to my hair. This is a must if you have frizzy curly hair like I do.

Next up is a mascara. I think I have featured this in a favourites before, but since I still love it, it's going in again. It is the Covergirl Nature Luxe waterproof mascara in Very Black. This is amazing. It makes my eyelashes look longer, but still quite natural. I'm not sure if it is still in stores, but it's not expired yet, so I'll keep using it!

Third up is something I put in last month's favourites post. It is the QV Cream. As I said last time, it is supposed to be used for things like eczema and whatnot and it really works! I actually got a bit of eczema on my arm (ew) and used this cream and it has cleared it up (phew).

The final thing in my favourites is a moisturiser. It is the Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion with SPF 15.  I mainly use this because I lost my school hat and have nothing to protect my face skin (is that what it's called?) from the sun. It works really well with moisturising AND protecting my face from the UV rays of the sun. It's also quite cheap (it's $10.99 at Priceline, to all the Aussies out there!). I was given this as a hand-me-down a little while ago and the packaging has been changed, quite significantly, but the name still remains (I hope they didn't change the formula, too).

They are all my favourites for this month. I really hope you enjoyed it and I will talk to you again on Saturday with my "Birthday Haul" post. That title sounds a bit snobby, so I'll probably call it "Birthday Presents" or "What I got for my Birthday" or something like that.

 Bye!

My Birthday Makeup

Hi everyone,

For those of you who didn't know, I had my birthday last Thursday (7th of August). As I don't celebrate my birthday till Sunday because that's when I go to see the rest of my family, I thought I'd post this on the day of so you can basically watch me get my face ready.

The first thing I'll do is wash my face with the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap in Mild. I do this every day to make sure my face is clean before I put makeup on it.

The next thing I'll do is exfoliate. I use the Clinique Clarifying Lotion in 3 (for Dry to Combination Skin) as it works really well and really helps keep those pesky spots and blemishes away.

The third and final step of my face routine is to moisturise. As it is a day event that I might go outside in, I use my Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. If it was a night time event, I would use my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisture Gel or Moisture Surge (also from Clinique).

Now on to makeup...

The first step in my makeup is eyes (I do eyes first because I have no foundation or concealer to use). For a bit of colour, I use the palest purple shade in my Inglot palette all over the lid. I will then *attempt* to blend the middle purple shade into the crease of my eye.

I will then use my Covergirl Nature Luxe Mascara in Very Black on my top lashes. It would just get a bit messy if I tried to do my bottom lashes, so I steer clear of those.

I then use the blush shade in my Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour Palette on the apples of my cheeks using my Napoleon Perdis Contour Brush. I avoid contouring my face because I just can't do it; Mum always says it looks like I have got a stripe of dirt on my cheeks.

The final step of my makeup is lipstick. The one I am going to use is my Maybelline Colour Whispers in Pink Possibilities.

Here is the finished look!
That is my entire birthday makeup tutorial. I hope you enjoyed it. I will be back on Wednesday with my July Favourites.

Bye!

Garnier Moisture Match review

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to review the Garnier Moisture Match moisturiser in "Goodbye Dry!". I got it in the June edition of Dolly magazine. Before I start this review I'd just like to say that I have combination skin, so maybe this isn't my moisture match (get it?).

The one I had (in sample form) was the pink one. I did take a picture of it, but I accidentally deleted it, sorry!

Does it work?

As I put it on, my skin felt quite moisturised. You won't believe it, but I think it might be better than my Clinique moisturiser. It is more of a cream than my Clinique one as well, so maybe that, too, is a factor. I also prefer to use a cream moisturiser rather than a gel one, so if you're like me you will love this moisturiser.

I would recommend this moisturiser for people with a smaller budget than someone who can afford higher end brands like Clinique. I think this moisturiser costs about $8 in Australia. It works just as well as Clinique (if not better) and is readily available in most grocery stores and retail stores. I would also recommend that you check out the entire range of Moisture Match because from just trying it and loving it, I think that maybe you will find a new favourite moisturiser. In the range there is a moisturiser for very dry/dry,  normal/dry, combination/oily, dull and normal.

I would also like to say that I think my moisture match (although this one proved quite successful) is actually the dull skin option, as it says on the website that it can be used by people with combination skin (which is what I have).

I hope you enjoyed this rather short review, I will back next Saturday with my birthday makeup.

Bye!
