Boxing Day Bargains 2014

Hi everyone,

Last Friday was Boxing Day. I went shopping with my mum, aunty and cousin in the Queen Street Mall. In this post, I will show you what I bought and how much I saved. Here we go!

The first thing I bought was from Myer*. I was drawn to it because (a) it looked like makeup and (b) it was so cute. I bought a set of highlighters that look like lipsticks. They come in four colours and they will be very useful in keeping my organised as I am going into senior schooling next year (Year 11). I bought these full price for $14.95 :( still cute though.

The next thing I bought was on sale. It was from a store called Forever New*. Again, they are really cute (half the reason I bought them). They, however,  are actually (kind of) makeup. They are macaron lip balms. Their flavours are lemon and strawberry. Also, the way they are packaged is just so pretty. Who wouldn't be drawn to roses and a blue background with white polka dots?! I bought these (on sale) for $9.95 and the full price was $14.99. That's a saving of $5.04 or about 33%.

As you may know from last week's post, my grandparents on my dad's side bought me a $50 Lush* gift card for Christmas. So my mother and I went into (a very crowded) Lush to use my gift card. I bought a lot of stuff. The Christmas gift packs were all 50% off so we went around like mad men (as much as you can in a crowded shop) smelling things and working out the cost of it all.

This one is called Festive Cheer and contains a Hot Toddy shower gel (right) and a slice of Yog Nog soap (left).  The Hot Toddy shower gel smells like Christmas spices and the Lush* website says it smells of "the spice of a Christmas market". The Yog Nog soap smells like caramel and the Lush* website says it smells like egg nog. This gift box would ordinarily be priced at $16.50, but as it was 50% off, I bought it for $8.25.

This gift box is called Little Snow Fairy. It contains a Snow Fairy shower gel (right) and Pink Fun (left). The Snow Fairy shower gel smells sweet, almost sickly sweet, but I can handle it and the Lush* website says it smells "candy-sweet". This gift box would ordinarily be priced at $13.95, but since it was 50% off, I paid $6.97.

This gift box is called Shine and it contains So White shower gel (top left), gold Fun (bottom) and Reindeer Rock Soap (top right). The So White shower gel smells like green apples and the Lush* website says it smells like "crisp apple". The gold Fun smells sweet and fruity and the Lush* website says it smells "toffee-sweet". The Reindeer Rock Soap smells like citrus and berries and the Lush* website says it smells like berries. This gift box would ordinarily sell for $19.95, but since it was 50% off, I bought it for $9.98.

This gift box is called Happy Christmas. It contains Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, So White Shower Gel, Santa's Lip Scrub, Baked Alaska Soap and Gorgeous Facial mousturiser. Rub Rub Rub shower scrub smells like flowers and the Lush* website says it smells like "refreshing, with a dash of lemon juice and the tropical scent of mimosa blossom".The Baked Alaska Soap smells like citrus and the Lush* website says it smells "zesty". The Santa's Lip Scrub smells exactly as the Lush* website describe it; "cola-flavoured". The Gorgeous Facial Moisturiser doesn't have a particular scent, but the Lush* website have said that "it makes us feels gorgeous".

This last one was called "Blooming Beautiful". It contains a Think Pink Bath Bomb (right) and a Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar (left). The Think Pink bath bomb smells sweet and the Lush* website says it smells like "vanilla-tonka", which is my personal favourite scent. The Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar smells citrus-y and the Lush* website says it smells like "citrus, Mediterranean warmth". This gift box would ordinarily cost me $12.95, but since it was 50% off it only cost me $6.48.

My haul from Lush* would have costed me a total of $108.30, but as there was a 50% off sale, I got everything for a total of $54.15. The total amount I spent on Boxing Day was $79.95 and the amount I would have spent if there were no sales was $138.24. That is a saving of $58.29 or 42%.
That is all that I bought at the Boxing Day sales last Friday. Also, as this is my first post of the new year, Happy New Year! Next week's post will be about the new year, so just you wait and see what that will be!

Bye!

*This post is not sponsored by anyone. Whatever I say about these products is completely my opinion.
