L'Oreal Nude Magique Foundation Review

Hi everyone,

I am going to do another review for you today.

The item I am going to review is the L'Oreal Nude Magique Foundation* in 150 Nude Beige. I got a sample from the latest Dolly Magazine*.

Before I start the review I'd just like to say that this is the first ever "real" foundation I have ever owned, so I have nothing to compare it to.

Swatches

Here is the foundation fully blended onto my face. I think that it is a really light but buildable foundation. It is not cakey at all (with the amount that I used anyway).

Here I am with my finished makeup look. I have added mascara, blusher and lipstick. The mascara is from Clinique (I have mentioned it before) called High Impact Mascara. The blusher I used is from the Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour Palette. The lipstick is from Maybelline Colour Whisper range in Pink Possibilities.

This is what it looked like after around 7 hours. It has come off slightly, but is still going strong. All of my lipstick has come off and most of the mascara has as well.

Colour

This shade is an almost perfect match for my skin tone. If I was to go and buy this I would test out multiple similar shades before I buy it.

Packaging

As it is just a sample, I cannot really say exactly how I feel about the packaging, but according to the instructions in the magazine, you have to shake the bottle without the lid on (and your finger over the opening, of course) to mix the foundation, which could cause some spillage. Also, if you just use your fingers, it is not very hygienic, but still blends quite well using fingers to rub it in.

Cost

As I got it from a magazine, it was free. I think it is in shops for about $25 Australian (which is about $23 US and £13 UK). It is available in pharmacies (drugstores) and online.

Does it work?

Yes it works really well. It stayed on for about 7 hours. This would be a great foundation to wear to work or school (if you're allowed to wear it at school) if you only need a light coverage. I like the light coverage because I don't think I need heavy coverage at my age. If you want a medium or heavy foundation you will not like this product. Also, it is a powder finish foundation, which I like because I think that it is kind of "sciencey" how it goes from liquid to powder.

Fun Fact: In French, Eau De Teint means Makeup Water .

What foundation do you use at the moment? Or do you not use foundation because you have perfect skin? By the way, if you do have perfect skin (a) I envy you and (b) what cleanser do you use to keep your skin so perfect?

Bye!

My Hair

Hi everyone,

Today I thought I'd tell you about my hair.

But before I do, please complete THIS SURVEY, it will only take a few minutes, if that!

My hair is blonde, medium length, curly and slightly frizzy. I do not like that it is frizzy and am struggling to find a shampoo and conditioner to take away my frizz.

Speaking of shampoo and conditioner, the ones I use are the Stefan Alive Luminous Shampoo and Volumising Conditioner every few days. After washing it, I use a hair wrap to dry it. After letting it sit in that for about half an hour or so, I comb my hair to minimise the frizz (it still frizzes out though)

I am not very good at doing hairstyles, but the ones I can do I am quite good at. I can do a pony tail at the back of my head (I wear this to school every day and if I mess up a more difficult hairstyle), a bun that was shown in this post, plaits (TIP: If you want kind of frizzy hair the next day, plait you hair and sleep with it like that and take it out the next day and you will have frizzy hair (recommended for people without frizzy hair if you want a bit more volume in your hair)), a half up do, a high pony tail (for lazy days when I'm not going anywhere) and a top knot bun (though it is very small).

That's all the things I can think of to tell you about my hair. If you have any more questions, ask me in the comments section below!

Bye!

TAG: My Beauty Firsts

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you about my firsts when it comes to beauty.

This tag was created by ViviannaDoesMakeup and Lily Pebbles, and I thought that it sounded pretty good, so I'm doing it!

1. What is your earliest beauty memory?
My earliest beauty memory was when I was 5 or 6. I had a dancing concert and I remember absolutely HATING anything near my eyes (mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow).

2. What was your first beauty purchase?
I think my first beauty purchase was the Smoothing Cherry Baby Lips lip balm from Maybelline. I had seen the lip balms on Instagram and wanted to try it out. I still stand by that it is amazing. I bought it when I was 13.

3. When did you first wear makeup?
I was 5 or 6 at the dancing concert. I had purple and gold eyeshadow and red lipstick on. Don't worry! I was supposed to wear those two eyeshadows.

4. What was your first beauty disaster?
I got a kids beauty set when I was little (I think I was about 7 or 8) and decided to put on both of the lipglosses, an extreme amount of blusher and the pink mascara that came in the pack all at once. It was horrific and my mum had to quickly clean it all of before we went to the party that we were going to (I think it was a Christmas party).

5. Who was your first beauty crush?
I think my first one was probably when I was about 13 and it was Emma Watson. I think it was because of the simplicity of her looks and she never appeared to be try-hard or anything. I also really like Katy Perry's makeup, I think her eyelashes are amazing.

6. What was your first brand crush?
I think mine would have to be MAC. When I first discovered makeup and beauty, MAC was what Tanya Burr practically always used. Tanya Burr is a YouTuber, just so you know. My first actual experience of MAC was when I went to the MAC counter at the Boxing Day Sales in the city last year. The staff were all really nice and all the makeup looked so perfect.

7. What's your longest standing beauty love?
Does perfume count as a beauty item? I think it does. Anyway, my longest standing beauty love would have to be Katy Perry's Meow! perfume. I think it is amazing and I have had it since Christmas 2011 (I was 12). I love it because (a) it's Katy Perry and (b) it smells absolutely divine. It is such a sweet scent, but it is also very light.

That is the entire My Beauty Firsts tag, and my first tag on this blog, which I think is fitting. If you want to see more posts like this, let me know  by "+1"ing this post or tell me in the comments what else you would like to see on this blog.

March Favourites

Hello everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you my March favourites.

The first favourite I have is:

The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter. This body butter is the best in the world, unfortunately I have run out of it (this means I can go to The Body Shop again. Yay!

My next favourite is:

Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion. This is the greatest moisturiser in the world. It moisturises AND protects you from the harmful sun rays with it's SPF 15.

My third and final favourite is:

Face of Australia Revitalising Body Lotion with Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and and Shea Butter. This is a really really good moisturiser that I used to replace my body butter. It is not as nice smelling as the body butter, but does just as good a job.

That is all my favourites for this month, thanks for reading. I'll talk to you next week.

Bye!

PS: I'm now on Bloglovin, check me out by searching Nicky Jane into the search bar on the Bloglovin website. (Don't use the link, because it doesn't work) Bloglovin'
